Funding Sources

The following government programs can be used to support your staff in-service training: 

 

Title I – LEA Grants 

Grants to school districts provide disadvantaged children with the extra academic support they need to master challenging curriculum and meet high academic standards. 

 

Indian Education – Grants to LEAs 

Grants to LEAs, Indian tribes and organizations, Indian-controlled schools, and individuals to address the special educational and culturally related academic needs of Indian children and adults. 

 

Even Start 

Competitive grants to Indian tribes for projects that integrate parenting, early childhood and adult literacy activities for the benefit of Indian children and their parents. 

 

Goals 2000:  Educate America Act 

One percent set aside of Title III funds for Territories and BIA-funded schools to support comprehensive systemic education reforms to improve teaching and learning. 

 

Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities 

One percent of the appropriation for State Grants is reserved for drug and violence prevention programs for Indian children.
