In response to Canadian First Nation Schools, we developed the program.

Money Management – The Indian Way

Having received no financial planning skills, many of the youth who received sand oil dividends turned to drugs and uncontrolled spending.  Almost without exception, they quickly lost their entire trust fund.

Two United States Tribes requested an Indian Casino model.  Thus, we will be offering a U.S.A. model of our Money Management – The Indian Way Youth Training Program (ages 14-21).

All training is privacy assured and carried out by highly skilled Indian college students (they relate better to Native youth).

Since “new to money” youth often turn to drugs, we also provide drug prevention training (see agenda).

Along with values and character building exercises, this 2¼ day training equips Indian youth with motivation to reject drugs and skills to design a healthy financial future.

Special Note to Casino Administrators

Knowing that many tribal members will seek work in their Tribe’s casinos, we also include vocabulary exercises to familiarize the youth about the Indian gaming industry.

From customer skills to gaming compacts, participants will become fluent with gaming vocabulary.  (Special Note:  Your casino staff would be welcome to participate and add to the training.)

The Process

Option 1:  Your casino’s Tribe or its Tribal School can request an on-site training (minimum participants 15, maximum 50, ages 14-21).  [Saves travel expenses and covered under your State gaming compact’s “Charitable Education”].

Option 2:  If fewer than 15 youth, you can register them for one of the statewide and regional workshops scheduled for your area.

Please call 1-800-458-8071 to schedule a workshop that meets your local needs.
